Living in Windsor, Ontario

News

  • Retirehere.ca A new initiative to promote Windsor, Ontario as a great place to live and retire is taking off here in this great city. I moved here about 15 years ago and was fortunate to find a lovely riverfront apartment in an older home with terrific views of the Detroit Skyline and wonderful sunsets over the Ambassador Bridge. It was very relaxing to watch the freighters go by the front window and there was plenty of company on fireworks night to watch the largest display in North American set off on the River. When it was time to purchase a home I chose Olde Riverside, a charming neighbourhood of modest homes and big trees with a small hometown atmosphere within walking distance to boutiques, restaurants, banks and of course Tim Horton's. If you are looking to buy real estate, Windsor is probably the most reasonable place in Canada to purchase a new home. A brand new townhome with attached garage can be purchased for as little as $ 154,000 and is located close to walking trails and man made lakes. Consider Windsor if you considering buying real estate. I believe you will find, as I did, that Windsor is a great place to live. Lynn
Looking for Charm and Personality?

You can't beat an older home to give you that feeling of "Aahhh, I'm home" when you walk in the door.   That is certainly the feeling when you walk into 918 Dawson.  The foyer features a solid wood staircase and railings, with a window in the landing and a built-in bench to sit down and take off your shoes and to store them as well!.  The living room has a large window and a gas fireplace,  a very large dining area is open to the kitchen and there is a patio door to a nice deck with electric awning and a HOT TUB!   The charming kitchen features a barrel vault wood ceiling.  Hardwood floors throughout as well.   Upstairs you will find a totally renovated space with three bedrooms and a modern bathroom with glass bowl sinks and a jacuzzi tub.  The basement has larger windows than you would expect in an older home so there is plenty of light.    The mechanicals are updated as well with a new furnace, central air and electrical system and all the windows are new!

I forgot to mention the charming and very large front porch loaded with wicker furniture to share a coffee with a friend or relax at the end of the day (before you hop in the hot tub).     A great mix of old and new.   Give Lynn a call for more information on this charming home.   Lynn Pronger 519-566-7188   www.buywindsorrealestate.com
