Living in Windsor, Ontario

News

  • Retirehere.ca A new initiative to promote Windsor, Ontario as a great place to live and retire is taking off here in this great city. I moved here about 15 years ago and was fortunate to find a lovely riverfront apartment in an older home with terrific views of the Detroit Skyline and wonderful sunsets over the Ambassador Bridge. It was very relaxing to watch the freighters go by the front window and there was plenty of company on fireworks night to watch the largest display in North American set off on the River. When it was time to purchase a home I chose Olde Riverside, a charming neighbourhood of modest homes and big trees with a small hometown atmosphere within walking distance to boutiques, restaurants, banks and of course Tim Horton's. If you are looking to buy real estate, Windsor is probably the most reasonable place in Canada to purchase a new home. A brand new townhome with attached garage can be purchased for as little as $ 154,000 and is located close to walking trails and man made lakes. Consider Windsor if you considering buying real estate. I believe you will find, as I did, that Windsor is a great place to live. Lynn
